Forward and big icon for the Utah Jazz, Joe Ingles suffers torn ACL, the team has announced. This happened in the second quarter of the Utah Jazz verses Minnesota Timberwolves Sunday night matchup.
Adrian Wojnarowski was told that Joe Ingles needs to heal and get back a lot of range of motion before his knee surgery can take place.
Utah is sitting at the 4th seed as of right now in the Western Conference with a record of 30-21 as of January 31, 2022. How much will this setback the Jazz’s season outcomes with Ingles likely being out through the playoffs? With Ingles averaging 7.2 points per game it shows that he is a solid role player for the Jazz and their success is dependent on his play.
Alex Jenson, who is the substitute head coach for Quinn Snyder, who is undergoing health and safety protocols temporarily, said this, “I feel bad for him… Hopefully it is better than we all think” Ingles is also shooting 35.1% from 3 point range so this is truly a setback for Utah.
Hopefully Joe Ingles will be able to come back for the playoffs so Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz can possibly have a chance at a championship. But, sadly it doesn’t look like that’s the case.
Utah’s next game is Wednesday, February 2nd at 10:00 pm EST against the 5th seeded Denver Nuggets on ESPN.
