The voting has ended, and the NBA has confirmed the 2022 NBA all-star starters and captains. The captains this year will be LeBron James of The Lakers and Kevin Durant of The Nets.
The starters that were finalized from the Western Conference consist of: G- Stephen Curry (Warriors), G- Ja Morant (Grizzlies), F- LeBron James (Lakers), F- Andrew Wiggins (Warriors), and C- Nikola Jokic (Nuggets). All of these selections seem good except for Andrew Wiggins, yes he is having a good season by averaging 18.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists but that is certainly not all-star level and definitely not enough to become a starter. Who should have replaced Wiggins is a guy like, Paul George out of The Los Angeles Clippers who is averaging 24.7 points, 7.1 rebounds , and 5.5 assists, and who is leading the Clippers since forward Kawhi Leonard has been out all season.
Then the players who have been voted for of the Eastern Conference include: G- Trae Young (Hawks), G- DeMar Derozan (Bulls), F- Kevin Durant (Nets), F- Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks), and C- Joel Embiid (76ers). I like these selections and there is nothing to complain about these guys. I am excited to see Derozan as an all star, and being back on his feet after a tough couple of years in San Antonio.
