Doug Pederson who has been in charge of the Philadelphia Eagles from 2016-2020 has just been recently hired by the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team has announced.

This 2021-22 NFL season, the Jags wanted to experience with hiring the famous Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer. Sadly, it was not successful. So after one season they part ways. But now they got a guy who was successful with his time with the Eagles, Doug Pederson.

Pederson has a record of 42-37-1 as a coach so far in the NFL. Also, he has a ring to go on his resume after the great Nick Foles performance, defeating Tom Brady and the New England Patriots 41-33 in 2018. This was a good hire as we hopefully get to see Trevor Lawrence dominate like he did with his collegiate career at Clemson.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan said this about the new coach, “Doug Pederson four years ago won a Super Bowl as a head coach of a franchise in pursuit of it’s first world championship, I hope Doug can replicate that magic here is Jacksonville” (ESPN). With a young quarterback like Trevor Lawrence under center and having the 1st overall selection in this years 2022 NFL draft, it looks like anythings possible after these acquisitions so far this offseason.

Will the Jaguars be in the playoffs next season? How will Doug Pederson effect this young franchise? These questions will be answered next season, and we will see if this was the right decision or the wrong decision for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
